FAQs

Q. Are you bonded and insured?

Yes, we are fully bonded and insured. A copy is available upon request.

Q. How long is each visit?

Each pet care visit lasts approximately 25-30 minutes. How we spend our time with your pet will be determined during your initial Meet and Greet session and is customized to meet you and your pet’s individual needs.

Q. What type of payment do you accept and when will I be charged.

Checks, Venmo • PayPal only – we do not except cash.

If you are paying by check – please mail your check to us prior to your departure – made payable to Peace Valley Pet Care and send to Peace Valley Pet Care, P.O. Box 1517, Doylestown, Pa. 18901 or if you have Venmo send payment to @PeaceValley If you having any issues using Venmo – we can send you a payment request also or we can issue you a PayPal E-Bill that matches the amount of your invoice that you can pay with any credit card – just let us know.

Q. Do you have boarding facilities?

No, we believe in in-home care.

Q. Will it be the same person every time I schedule?

Yes, you and your pet will be assigned one primary pet sitter, however, there will be times when that person may not be available. In that instance, you will be notified and we will provide you with another equally qualified pet sitter who will have all the information about your home and pets.

Q. can we schedule our visits thru the assigned staff member?

No – Staff members cannot schedule, change or cancel any visits (no exceptions). All scheduling is done through our office – Kristie and Rudi schedule all visits based on availability, make any changes that are needed and will cancel any requested visits in accordance of our guidelines (No Exceptions).

Q. can we hire a Peace Valley Pet Care on the side to do any visits?

Absolutely Not – All staff members sign a non-compete agreement with Peace Valley Pet Care – Any staff member that violates this agreement can get terminated if caught determined by management. All clients sign an contract agreement that they agree not to directly hire our staff – if this happens the client will be terminated and can be subject to legal proceedings against them.

Q. What if I have an emergency and need pet care service on short notice?

Ideally, we request that you schedule with us a week in advance. However, should there be an emergency, please call us and we will do our best to accomodate your needs based on our availabity.

Q. Are you able to administer medication and/or give injections?

Yes, we can give medication in customer supplied food, a pill pocket, a piece of cheese, or lunch meat, peanut butter or mixed in their food.Due to the safety for our staff, we will not put pills or medicine down your pet’s throat, as we do not want to get bitten if they do not like it. We no longer give injections due to insurance liability. We recommend that you hire a Vet Tech to give injections as they are trained & insured to give insulin shots.

Q. Do I keep a key on file with you?

Yes, two copies of all keys are required to access your home and pet which should be given to us during your initial Meet and Greet session. Your keys will be kept in an electronic safe for your security. There is a $25.00 pick up fee if keys are not available at the initial meet and greet and we have to return to pick them up.

Q. I have a limited pet care budget. Can you provide half the time for half the cost?

We pride ourselves in guaranteeing that your pet will receive the best quality and individualized attention for a full 30 minutes. You may find your limited pet care budget better spent on maintaining your pet’s health.

Q. My pet has a history of being aggressive – will you accept her as a client?

We will interview you and your pet in person to determine if there is a good fit between your pet and our services. If additional visits are needed to socialize your pet then you will need to be present at all visits and pay the normal service fee until your pet is socialized. If we feel that it is unsafe to perform a service, we reserve the right to discontinue service.

Q. We are thinking about hiring a new pet sitter – how far in advance should we contact you?

Any potential should set up a Meet & Greet a minimum of two weeks in advance of any needed service.  Once a meeting date is set up we will come out to meet you, go over what is needed, have your fill in our client forms to be put in our scheduling system, assign a staff member that can come out to meet you at your request, as well as scheduling any needed visits that will be sent to you for your review.
